CALGARY STRIKERS COED SOCCER (CSCS) OUTDOOR RULES
1. Reschedule Requests: Teams that wish to re-schedule games MUST ask their opponent first. If they agree to a different date that both teams agree upon then let CSCS know.
If the team does not agree the game will go on as scheduled and you will take a forfeit loss if you do not have enough players (fine for forfeit $100)
The cost to re-schedule is $80, CSCS has to book fields for the request, thats why there will be a charge.
7 day notice is required in order to re-schedule games.
CSCS makes it easy to find players there is no need to go out and make special ID's for this league, if you have someone new subbing for you that is not registered all they need to do is register online.
2. Ball: Each team is required to supply at least one size 5 soccer ball for each game.
3. Yellow Cards: Player safety and fair play is what we are striving for in this league.
3. Number Of Players On The Field: 10 v 10 League requires 6M/3F/1G on the field.
Teams must have 1 female on the field at all times, failure to do so will result in a forfeit, IF you have a female goalie they do not count towards the (3F) rule on the field.
Minimum number of players required on the field to start the game is 6, goalie included
Player Registration: All players MUST be registered online before playing, we have made it easy and hassle free with NO ID cards needed, so be honest in registering it only takes less than a minute to do. Teams caught playing with a unregistered player will forfeit that game plus a $50 fine will be handed out. Captains responsibility to ask and make sure each player is registered and they can check online by clicking on their team roster. Registered players get automatically added right away.
Substitutions: A team is allowed to substitute one or more players at the following times:
Substitutions must be requested from the referee. Substitutes MUST enter the field at the halfway line and only enter the field once the substituted player has left the field. The substituted player may exit the field anywhere.
Player Equipment
Shin Guards: All players are required to wear shin-guards at all times on the field,
Uniforms: All players on each team must have the same color. Tape or written numbers is acceptable as long its readable by the referee. Uniforms are the responsibility of each Team Rep/Team.
NO JEWELRY OR CASTS ALLOWED. Exception: Wedding bands, obvious religious items and medical alert bracelets are permitted provided they are taped-down with no sharp edges exposed. Wedding bands/rings with protrusions, ear rings, necklaces, watches, hard or soft bracelets, hard plastic/metal hair clips, or any other item deemed dangerous by the referee must be removed. In addition, hard casts (i.e. made of plaster, metal, plastic, etc.) or soft casts (i.e. made from tape, foam, bandages, etc.) are not allowed. Players refusing to remove prohibited items will not be allowed to play. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Game Referee No Show: The CSCS schedules officials for every game. If for any reason there is no official at a game teams will self-ref a game and report back to CSCS.
Rain- Out / Cancellation Procedure: Please check the website for any cancellations. If nothing is posted, please proceed to the playing field. After arriving for the first scheduled game, referees are required to stay at the field until the start of the last scheduled game even if the weather does not permit the games to start or finish. Referees are permitted to leave the field only after the last scheduled game is played to full time or terminated early for weather or other cause.
ANY GAMES GET THAT CANCELLED WILL BE PLAYED ON A RANDOM DAY.
Lightning Policy: Games will be played unless one of the following occurs:
The game clock will continue to run during the suspension. No additional time will be added in the case of suspension due to weather.
Score and Time Keeping: Score keeping and Time keeping will be performed on the field by the referee.
Game Duration: Two 35 minute halves with running time. Officials may stop the clock for injury if excessive time is required to attend to the injured player, provided schedule constraints permit. The game clock starts at the scheduled game time without exception.
Forfeit Time: A 10 minute grace period will be given to a team not able to meet the minimum player requirements at game time. A forfeit will result in a 3-0 loss for the forfeiting team. After forfeiture, the game can still be played as a scrimmage or “friendly” between the two scheduled teams. Even if it is a forfeit, Referees are required to stay and officiate the game if both teams still want to play. Teams can share players between the two scheduled teams or any team scheduled at their field, if the game is a forfeit.
Forfeit: If a team forfeits a game $100 fine will be handed out and MUST be paid before next game.
Half-Time: Half-time is 2 minutes long. Teams should be ready to restart play when half-time is over.
Fouls and Misconduct
Free Kicks: Free kicks will be indirect or direct, opossing team has to be 10 yards behind the ball, if you ask the referee to measure the yard, you MUST wait for the whistle to be blown before taking the free-kick.
NO SLIDE TACKLING: Whether accidental or not, slide tackling is not allowed and will result in an indirect free kick for the opposing team, and may result in a misconduct (yellow or red card, depending on the degree of danger to or contact with the opponent) for the player who committed the slide tackle. Sliding in open field space with no other players in the active area of play is allowed. The goalkeeper is the only player allowed to slide tackle near an opponent provided it is performed within the penalty area and is performed only in a manner that does not pose a danger to the opponent or to him/herself.
Cautions (Yellow Cards) and Sendoffs (Red Cards): The CSCS will review these incidents to determine if further disciplinary action is necessary.
Red Cards: Player receives a red card in the game will not be allowed to re-enter the game, disciplinary action might be taken by CSCS depending on the severity of the red card.
Team gets a 5 min powerplay, and after the 5 minutes the team that was down a player can replace a player back in
Playing A Player Who Is Suspended: If a team is caught playing a player who has been suspended by the league, the game will be forfeited right away, and the team will be issued a $200 fine that MUST be paid before they can play their next game.
There is no excuse for playing a player with a red card, teams are sent emails regarding suspensions and players suspended are listed on the website, and the game they are suspended for.
Field Conduct: In order for the referee to keep better control of the game, all teams must observe the following:
PLAYER ELIGIBILITY
- Referee or CSCS Board Member may check your team roster at any time. If an illegal player is suspected, the CSCS Board Member has the right to take appropriate action. At a minimum, the illegal player must be removed for the duration of the match. A violation could cause a game forfeiture.
- Send offs (receiving a red card or two yellow cards in one game) will warrant automatic ejection of said player from the playing field. Spectator violent conduct will warrant automatic ejection of said person from the vicinity of the playing field. The match will be SUSPENDED while the player or spectator leaves the premises. If an ejected player or spectator does not leave the premises within two (2) minutes, the match can be TERMINATED.
A. Any player or coach/manager ejected from a game will be reported CSCS for disciplinary action. At a minimum, there will be a one (1) game, in addition to the game in which player or coach/manager was suspended.
B. The CSCS will review each case and assess the proper disciplinary action.
C. No coach/manger, player, or spectator shall:
D. Any player removed from a game must leave the playing field immediately.
E. Referees have the authority to give warnings to players, substitutes, and spectators and suspend/eject if necessary. The referee reserves the right to make the final decision in all matters if the referee is incapacitated.
F. Players guilty of Violent Conduct are subject to termination from the CSCS upon review.
G. MASS CONFRONTATION – Teams involved in a mass confrontation will be sanctioned with a MINIMUM one game suspension, based on the referee’s report. If it can be established that the majority of the players of either team become involved, OR that the behavior of the few involved is such that the game must be terminated for safety reasons, either or both teams are subject to suspensions. Cases involving mass confrontation will be evaluated and decided upon by the CSCS. Decisions made regarding mass confrontation MAY NOT be appealed.
Mass confrontation is defined as involvement by one or more players from either team with a situation on the field that does not directly involve them. Mass confrontation is usually occurs following serious foul play or violent conduct and may or may not require a match to be terminated.
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES AND TOBACCO PRODUCTS
Alcoholic beverages and tobacco products are NOT allowed at any playing field at any time. Teams are responsible for their spectators. Drinking or use of tobacco products is not allowed in recreation programs.
Tie-Breaker Rule For Standings
If teams are tied for points, the tie-breaker rule is as follows
1) Head to Head (still tied then...)
2) Wins (still tied then....)
3) Goals for and Goals Against Difference
Playoffs
- Penalty Kicks - Teams will select 5 players from their team to shoot; gender alternating.
- If still tied after 5 shooters, it will go into suddent death, 1 player from each team. Player who have already taken a shot cannot shoot again until whole roster has gone through.
If a game ends in a tie in the FINALS ONLY:
- It will go into Overtime, 10 minutes. if a goal is scored in overtime the game is over. (GOLDEN GOAL RULE)
- If still tied after 10 minutes it will then go into a shootout. Teams will select 5 players from there team to shoot (1 girl, 1 guy rotation or vise versa), if still tied after the 5 shooters it will go to a 1 player shootout (sudden death) alternating guy and girl if still tied.
Teams NEED to go through there full roster before the same player can shoot again.
Discipline
Player receives 2 Yellow Cards = Red in a game........ 1 game suspension, $50 Fine, paid before next game.
Player receives Straight Red in a game..... 2 game suspension (depends on the severity of the red card) $100 Fine, paid before next game.
Verbal Abuse To Referee or Opposing Team = 5 game suspension, $100 Fine, paid before next game.
Note** 5 games is minimal, it could be for the season for a ban from the league, depending on the severity
